
In the UK a small group of families has been accepted to start building a mini ecovillage.The group will consist of nine families.These are going to build their house from mud,timber and straw bale in the Welsh village.This small ecovillage will be called Lammas and is planned to cover a 74 acre site of woodland and pasture.The water will be collect from rooftop rainwater and springs.
Electricity would come from a water turbine system that is a renewable energy.The families are going to depend on bio gas captured from organic waste and wormeries and compost toilets. Their low-impact life style is furthermore supported by the way they use transport. The Lammas will create fuel from coppiced willow and elephant grass grown in their mini village.
To supplement their income village ,members will be working one day a week.They will be dependent on income from the production of vegetables, the sale of compost worms,flax-made linen shawls and fruits marketed in the local shops and in community itself.
Purlin now the Lammas are the first community that has obtained official approval from UK local authorities,and to draw up the plans that received approval it took the families five months.
